Calisto Pasuwa Appointed Interim Malawi National Team Coach

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has appointed renowned Zimbabwean coach, Calisto Pasuwa, as the interim head coach of the Malawi national football team, also known as the Flames. Pasuwa's appointment takes immediate effect, following a virtual meeting of the FAM executive committee on Friday.

Pasuwa replaces Patrick Mabedi, whose contract was terminated due to the team's poor performance and failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. With his wealth of experience and success in Malawian topflight football, Pasuwa is expected to bring stability and improvement to the Flames. His appointment is part of FAM's efforts to transform Malawian football and address the team's recent struggles.
